Rainy Day

What a beautiful day it is today for me. I left the house at around 12:00 PM to go to work. As I went out of my door I saw that the sky was dark outside and I assumed that it will rain in a short while. True to it upon reaching my Auntie’s house to pick up my company service laptop the rain fall that I have to borrow my cousin’s umbrella so I can go out of her house. I waited for a taxi cab for about ½ an hour. I instructed the taxi driver to take the Acacia Lane –Shaw Boulevard route instead of the Boni-Samat route on my way to our office in Ortigas. As we reached Edsa a heavy downpour outside had started. I saw a lot of passengers running to escape the heavy downpour coming. I saw vehicles starting to build up along the stretch of Edsa-Shaw intersection. When I alighted from the taxi just outside our building entrance I saw my officemates waiting for the rain to stopped to have lunch at the SM Megamall food court. As I entered our building premises I realized that a lot of people were not prepared for the coming rainy season :). Is it only I who is anticipating the rainy season? Or there are other people out there just like me who preferred rainy days than summer. As mentioned in my previous post, I preferred rainy months than summer, as sunny days and too much heat makes my skin itchy. Since I am living in a tropical country, we seldom experience cold months and we have a warm weather almost all throughout the year. When I reached our office premises I can’t resist but to look outside our window grill to see if the rain had stopped already. I was in the mood to work today and was able to finish my e-learning lessons for the Six Thinking Hats – prerequisite for my Business Process Improvement Training scheduled in 18 May 2007. I reviewed my mailbox too for any urgent concerns that I have to attend to and finished other pending SIT unit tests in preparation for our SIT scheduled on 21 May 2007.

I spent an hour for this tasked before we started with our every other Wednesday team merienda. Group 1 prepared Salad & Sandwich merienda. We had fun doing this team bonding twice a month. Seeing them lined-up in the table area made me felt envious of what they had in their plates :). As most of you know in my previous posts, I am no longer allowed to eat foods I used to eat before due to my current illness. I can no longer eat foods such as cheese, milk, egg, root crops, seafoods and other fruits rich in calcium. I only ate ham and wheat bread. I took 3 slices of banana and cantaloupe just so I will not crave seeing them feast on the foods :). When I look at the window I realized that the weather is getting nicer and I was tempted to eat the foods I am not allowed to eat. The thought of that rainy season will somewhat not aggravate my skin rashes made me thought of eating those forbidden foods :). But it took me just a few minutes to realize that I should not be tempted of those, as my endocrinologist said that if I really want to live long I should have to discipline myself and resist eating those he considered as my forbidden foods. I am used to eating those salads before I was diagnosed of my ailment last year. So resisting my urge to eat what was served in the table was a bit difficult

Now I feel like I accomplished something today. Now I have to finish my pending SAP testing task.

Have a nice day to everyone!!!
