Valentine’s Day, celebrated on February 14th is an especial day to whisper and to celebrate love and friendship around the world. While uploading my latest blog entry, I overheard the DJ at the radio station where my officemate was tuned in about the station’s Valentine’s Day contest. This year’s contest was somewhat exciting to the listeners. They’ve got to answer a certain question related to the new album being released by a record company. As a prize for the contestant the singer will play Cupid and help plan a romantic interludes for the winner. Whether they choose to dine out or stay in or just run away for a weekend adventure they’ve got full of Valentine’s Day ideas.
While some researchers said that Valentine’s Day is the busiest holiday in the world second to Christmas, it’s the time of the year where people spend much to buy gifts for their loved ones. But what does valentine’s means? The New Lexicon Webster’s Encyclopedia Dictionary defines valentine as a sweetheart chosen on Valentine’s Day, the day when birds were believed to begin mating. According to Cambridge Dictionary Online, valentine’s means, someone you love or would like to have a romantic relationship with. And on Wikipedia Online Dictionary, Valentine’s Day is the traditional day on which lovers in certain cultures let each other know about their love.
The history of Valentine’s Day is a mystery. However, we do know that February has long been celebrated as a month of romance. It is the day for love and lovers. It is the traditional day on which lovers let each other know about their love.
