Another Busy Week
It’s Friday again. I have had a busy week that I feel like I am exhausted already. I don’t have to work tomorrow and I am very much looking forward to it. Tomorrow is a non-working Saturday for us. As you all know from my previous posts we have an extended working hours on weekdays to compensate for our every other Saturday half-day work schedule. I am anticipating staying in my “power loungers” tomorrow (shorts and a loose t-shirt) all day, doing my laundry and cleaning my room of all the old stuff I have and working through to finish John Grisham’s “The Innocent Man”. I am also going through this SAP Manual Reading frenzy during weekend, but I figure what the hell? I am retaining the information I’m learning and I have had experience for a couple of years in business process integration from my past jobs from the different companies that I worked with is really coming in handy. I just want to get it done in time for my transfer to my new post @ HP Philippines by March 16. I will be doing SAP Consultancy there so I have to study hard to equip myself with enough SAP knowledge – but at least I will be able to do something I love, and getting paid for it while I go through it. As I said my superior there is looking forward to seeing me on board. But I delayed my transfer for 2 weeks and I will be starting on the 16th. In a way, this is a relief because it gives me more time to study the SAP concepts and process, but on the other hand, it’s going to drag out the nervousness.
I got to work today and I was a little late but not late in our working schedule it’s just that I am used to seeing my name logged on the second number next to my officemate Yvette. But today I was third in the log sheet maybe because I woke up late for I felt nauseated this morning that I had to stay in bed for a few minuets. When I arrived I saw 3 of my officemates working already. I went to say hi to my officemate Richard – the guy seating on my right and I decided to clean my table, and PC before getting busy at my desk. He coerced me into eating taho. Since I didn’t use to eating breakfast I begged off. I busied myself with my pending stuff again. Now, I am doing Accounts Payable flowchart for this was my new assignment from our COO. Though I told them that I don’t want to start a new project for I am worried I might not be able to finish this in a week but since he was insistent I accepted the project. But I made them aware that I will not be able to finish what I started and they are still willing to gamble on this. So, here I am starting a new project again. I started with the Accounts Payable process and with the User’s Manual since I am done with the configuration last year. I made it clear with our RMS (Systems Team) that I can’t prepare the blue print since I have yet to interview the Accounting people as my reference in the preparation of blue print and GAP analysis. I don’t have that much time to prepare the documentation. I know they are having a hard time looking for my replacement and for a person who will take over my post when I go out of the office. However, I can no longer extend my stay as my new company is waiting for me too.
I understand our COO’s concern but I emphasized that I have made my commitment for my new company to start my employ on the 16th.
Have a nice weekend to everyone….
